Commissioned chair with painted olive upholstery
Our existing client had this chair that was the odd piece out in the room, it was a traditional piece that was requiring an update. The chair sits under 3 white picture frames each with a floral print of reds and greens.
The concept was to tie this chair into the room more and our client gave us creative freedom to come up with a concept. We both agreed that we would lighten the frame in an old white to tie in with the white themed room and as the upholstery was in excellent condition (other than it looked dated), we put forward the concept that we should paint.... yes paint the upholstery and update it with an olive colour, drawing inspiration from the prints in which it sat under.
The frame has been hand painted in old white, with light distressing and detailing. The deep buttoned upholstery has been hand painted in Olive, conditioned and waxed to giving it a beautiful soft suede touch and feel. We are looking forward to hopefully getting a few pictures of this piece in situ and it is certainly another one we are very proud of.
