A stunning revival of our long time clients entertainment unit. Having re-decorated in light neutrals and soft blues this piece needed a revival, lightening, softening and cohesive with the living area. Having previously done created feature pieces for this living area in the past, we decided to work with neutrals, reviving the piece to be lighter, softer more modern but not too loud. After an in store consultation taking into consideration the colours and nearby feature pieces, the concept was agreed upon, soft greys underlying tones to tie in with a pewter feature piece we created previously for the room, layered with whites to lighten soften and add a crispness to the look tying in with the neutral tones, textiles and linens in the room. Creating overall a white piece but with depth and interest. Vintro gloss lacquer was also the hero in this project allowing us to refine the look and create the finish that our client was after.
What we did:
Hand painted in Tower Bridge Chalk Paint using a staalmeester 2020 size 20 brush with subtle texture, We then started to layer glazes: (mix of Vintro gloss lacquer and water 1:1 then mixed with Vintro Chalk Paint colours) a cloudburst glaze, followed with different strengths of crystal glazes with 2x clear Vintro gloss lacquer to seal and provide a beautiful gloss finish. The handles painted in Vintro Chalk Paint and silver gilding wax with silver gilding wax along the edges of the entire piece.
