Commissioned Scotch Chest of Drawers
Our long term client requested that we create a feature piece of this very functional but simple set of drawers. She gave us complete creative freedom to create for a room of hers that we were well familiar with. The Scotch chest had a great size and nice features but was a very machined smooth finish. We revived this piece in a layered approach utilising a base colour of Honfleur and then layered, Aubusson Blue, Louis Blue, Napoleonic Blue, a touch of Florence, and Paris Grey. Texture was created using the Annie Sloan medium pure bristle brush. The piece was then clear and dark waxed and distressed to peel back and expose all the beautiful blues and textures. Warm and bright gold gilding waxes were mixed (along with a dash of bright silver) and used to further enhance the piece. New handles were sourced by TR and fitted to complete this bespoke revival.
